Review: This weight set is decent enough. I have another very similar set I got here so I was hoping I could combine the 2 and have double the weight. Unfortunately, they must know people will do that because these weights are threaded and my other set are not. That’s a real bummer because this set just isn’t heavy enough for the lifting I want to do. It’s to be expected with an at home weight set though. It’s not top notch gym quality weights, so don’t expect that. I just didn’t expect the entire thing to have threads so it can ONLY be used alone, unless you buy a whole new set from this brand? Frustrating but oh well. Overall, the weights are nice, nothing leaking, everything seems to be the correct weight. The pieces are plastic so they do not hold very well. You have to constantly keep screwing them in to keep them tight. This bar is the main best feature. It’s heavy duty and has the nice padding for comfortable use on your back and shoulders. Overall, if you just need some cheap weights for at home, go for it. But if you’re expecting higher quality than plastic weights filled with sand, absolutely keep searching. I would not pay more than $40 for this. I know what good quality workout equipment is. This is fine and decent enough for working out at home here and there, but that’s it.

Review: I really liked the idea of being able to create multiple weights from just a few pieces – would really be helpful for storage, etc. However, in reality, these weren’t quite it. There wasn’t any indication of what the bar or the actual weights weighed, so I had to weigh them myself and then write it on the them. The instructions didn’t make any sense, but I eventually figured out what seemed the best and safest way to assemble. Creating the full bar was OK. It doesn’t feel very sturdy and while I’m smaller, its kind of a weird size. Everything also smelled awful when I opened the box – like gasoline.I’ve used these a handful of times, but I’m not loving them.
